India stocks set for Tuesday watchlist as defence deal advances

Investors will also monitor Container Corporation of India, Swiggy and Adani Power after hours, including Swiggy’s planned ₹500 crore stake sale to Udaan’s parent.

Indian stock investors are set to track a slate of companies on Tuesday, 8 September, after key developments, including order wins, stake sales, fundraising plans and investment announcements made after market hours, according to LiveMint Markets.

The report also highlighted that defence stocks may draw attention after the Defence Acquisition Council approved acquisition proposals worth around ₹1.10 lakh crore, potentially adding focus to that segment in the next session.

On the watchlist, Container Corporation of India said it secured an ₹89.09 crore contract from Eastern Railway for the supply of 12 rakes of BLSS wagons, including GST. Swiggy plans to sell its entire stake in its B2B distribution arm, Lynk Logistics, to the parent of commerce platform Udaan for ₹500 crore, a deal expected to translate into an approximately 2.8% stake in Udaan, with a separate ₹75 crore primary investment aimed at taking its holding to about 3.2%.

Other items include BCPL Railway Infrastructure being named the lowest bidder for a ₹54.74 crore project from Eastern Railway’s Asansol division, tied to replacement of overaged catenary and contact wires, droppers and old structures, and Adani Power receiving a Letter of Intent after the Committee of Creditors approved its next steps, the outlet said. The same preview noted Indian benchmarks fell on Monday, with the Nifty 50 off 0.57% to 23,779 and the Sensex down 0.5% to 76,132.
