Iran attacks keep oil shipping through the Strait of Hormuz at risk

The New York Times reports that Iran’s attacks are keeping the Strait of Hormuz in a dangerous, stalemated situation for oil shipping.

Although the U.S. military helps oil move out of the Persian Gulf on tankers, Iran continues to attack ships, which the outlet says is scaring operators away.

As a result, oil transport through the corridor remains exposed to disruption even with U.S. support.

The report frames the situation as a persistent risk for tanker activity rather than a resolved threat.
