Brazilian banks expand crypto token offerings to retail clients

Itaú, Nubank, and Banco do Brasil each sell more than a dozen tokens to retail customers via their platforms, despite not using their own balance sheets for crypto exposure.

Brazilian banks are expanding retail access to crypto as local regulation firms up, with multiple lenders now selling token offerings directly to customers, according to Decrypt.

Decrypt reports that Itaú, Nubank, and Banco do Brasil each now market and sell more than a dozen tokens to retail clients.

The outlet notes that, even with the expanded offerings, none of the banks take positions in crypto on their own balance sheets.

As a result, the new retail products appear designed to route customer trading interest without the banks directly holding crypto assets themselves.
