Bunge names Richard James to succeed Matt Simmons as controller

Simmons plans to retire effective March 31, 2027, and will stay through the transition period as Bunge prepares the handover.

Bunge Global SA said it is planning for the retirement of Matt Simmons, its controller and chief accounting officer, and has selected Richard James, currently vice president for finance integration and transformation, as his successor.

In a Sept. 1 filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Bunge said Simmons notified the company of his intention to retire effective March 31, 2027, and is expected to remain through the transition period to support an orderly handover of responsibilities.

Bunge said James has held roles of increasing responsibility during his 14-year tenure, including serving as vice president, finance integration and transformation since December 2022, and previously as corporate controller from July 2019 through December 2022.

In related reporting, World Grain also notes that Green Acres Milling is set to begin operating an oat mill with annual production capacity of 39,420 tonnes of finished oat products, or 869,062 cwts.
