Circle to acquire Tazapay in $400 million all-stock deal
The deal is expected to close in 2027, pending closing conditions and approval from Singapore’s Monetary Authority.
Circle has agreed to acquire Singapore-based cross-border payments platform Tazapay in a $400 million all-stock transaction expected to close in 2027, according to Cointelegraph. Circle will pay using Class A common stock, and the purchase price will be adjusted for Tazapay’s debt, transaction expenses and cash, the report said. The acquisition is also subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Circle said in a Tuesday announcement cited by Cointelegraph. The report notes that the transaction adds to Circle’s efforts to expand USDC-based cross-border payment reach.
Tazapay processes more than $25 billion in annualized payment volume and supports payouts across more than 100 markets, serving over 60 banking and fintech partners with local payout rails, Cointelegraph reported. Stablecoins account for about 60% of Tazapay’s transaction volume, and the platform has been a design partner for Circle’s Payments Network since 2025, the report added. Circle said the acquisition will expand its ability to route payments to and from Asia-Pacific and emerging markets, aiming for near-instant 24/7 global origination and termination of payments. Cointelegraph also said Circle expects Tazapay customers should see no disruption to their services, APIs, pricing or support.
