Dutch TTF gas rises 2% as Europe races to fill winter storage
Front-month Dutch TTF gas was up 2.0% at $86.90 per MWh by 8:40 a.m. Amsterdam time, the highest since the 2022-2023 crisis.
Europe’s benchmark natural gas prices rose Tuesday morning in Amsterdam as the Middle East crisis kept supply risk elevated and heightened pressure on Europe’s winter storage plans, OilPrice reports.
The front-month Dutch Title Transfer Facility, or TTF, price increased by 2.0% as of 8:40 a.m. Amsterdam time to $86.90 per megawatt-hour, marking the highest level since the 2022-2023 crisis.
The move puts TTF above January 2023 levels, when Europe faced its first winter without most of Russian pipeline gas supply, OilPrice adds.
OilPrice also notes that European gas prices logged a fourth consecutive weekly gain last week, while storage sites across Europe were below 70% full, compared with 82% for this time of year in 2025 and above 80% on a five-year average.
