Hackers return $270M in Bitcoin after Blockstream patches Liquid bridge
Decrypt reports Blockstream’s on-chain message said Liquid bridge nodes were patched, leaving nearly 600 BTC still outstanding.
Hackers who previously swiped $320 million in Bitcoin have returned $270 million, according to Decrypt, in what appears to be an ongoing effort to unwind a Liquid-related theft.
Decrypt said the remaining balance is nearly 600 BTC, with Blockstream sending an on-chain message to the attackers that Liquid’s bridge nodes had been patched.
The report indicates the return happened after those bridge nodes were addressed, which would have affected the attackers’ ability to continue moving funds through the Liquid network.
