Uzbekistan launches bond-backed stablecoin payment pilot
The pilot will involve more than 20 merchants using HUMO payments, overseen by NAPP and the country’s central bank.
Cointelegraph reports that Uzbekistan has started a government bond-backed stablecoin payment pilot under a regulated sandbox. The program is designed to test HUMO payments for real-world use.
Humo Digital is set to conduct the trial with more than 20 merchants participating in the sandbox.
Oversight will be provided jointly by NAPP and Uzbekistan’s central bank, reflecting a controlled approach to introducing the stablecoin payments system.
