Crypto groups launch TV ads to support the CLARITY Act ahead of Senate vote
The seven-figure campaign targets banks and lawmakers as the Senate prepares to vote Sept. 15 on moving toward the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which would set SEC and CFTC roles for digital-asset oversight.
CryptoSlate reports that the crypto industry has started a seven-figure national TV advertising push to help secure momentum for the CLARITY Act ahead of a key Senate procedural vote scheduled for Sept. 15.
The Senate vote would determine whether to invoke cloture on a motion to proceed to the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, a procedural step requiring 60 votes, and would only open debate while lawmakers clear additional hurdles before final passage.
According to CryptoSlate, the ads come from the Cedar Innovation Foundation, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit tied to the Fairshake super PAC network, and include three cable spots, one of which focuses on banks that have resisted parts of the legislation.
CryptoSlate also notes that smaller lenders have pushed for tighter stablecoin rules, arguing that crypto yield-like incentives could draw deposits away from the banking system, while other advertisements highlight consumer protection and support or neutrality from groups including AARP and law-enforcement organizations.
