Major stock indexes slip as debt fears and oil spike weigh on trading

The session showed weakness across the Dow and other major indexes, even as some tech and financial names pushed higher late in the day.

Yahoo Finance’s live market coverage said the Dow Jones Industrial Average and other major stock indexes traded mildly lower Wednesday.

The outlet attributed the softer tape to investor concerns about debt and a spike in oil prices.

It also noted that the market’s decline came alongside strength in parts of technology, including a tech group stretching a win streak.

In late trading updates, Yahoo Finance cited individual movers such as Chime Financial, described as signaling a breakout on strong guidance, and Nvidia and AMD leading a list of top performers.
