Consensys to split into MetaMask unit and Ethereum protocols business

Consensys Software Inc. is set to split its business structure, with MetaMask becoming its own focus area, according to Decrypt.

In the new setup, MetaMask will move under Consensys Software Inc., while a newly formed Consensys will take over the firm’s Ethereum protocols and its institutional blockchain infrastructure business.

Decrypt said the change effectively separates the MetaMask product line from the company’s core protocol and enterprise infrastructure operations.
