Tweedy Browne Insider + Value ETF holds 6.22% in information technology
The active ETF, which targets value stocks with insider buying or company buybacks, invests in select tech names when they meet its proprietary value criteria.
ETF Trends highlights the Tweedy Browne Insider + Value ETF, COPY, as an example of how a value-focused strategy can still include a measured allocation to technology stocks.
According to the fund page cited by ETF Trends, 6.22% of COPY’s portfolio is in the information technology sector as of August 31, 2026.
ETF Trends also notes that while tech is not a top holding, the fund’s management invests in key technology companies when deemed appropriate. In a Bloomberg interview referenced by ETF Trends, John Spears, managing director and an investment committee member at Tweedy Browne, pointed to the fund’s purchase of Adobe after a director, David Ricks, bought $2,000,000 worth of the stock.
Spears said the Adobe position met COPY’s value framework, citing the stock’s move from about $400 earlier in the year to $190, an estimated 12% earnings yield based on a price of about eight and a half times earnings, and the meeting of the fund’s proprietary value score characteristics.
