BlackRock says AI agents could become a new driver of crypto demand

BlackRock argues that AI agents could pull crypto usage higher by buying services, paying for data, and renting computing power.

BlackRock says the next meaningful wave of crypto demand could come from autonomous AI agents that start spending on digital services. Decrypt reports that the asset manager frames AI agents as a quiet but potentially large source of new market activity for crypto.

According to Decrypt, BlackRock’s view is that as AI agents procure inputs and services, they could increasingly rely on crypto rails for payments tied to data access and computing resources.

BlackRock also suggests that AI agents would not just use isolated crypto transactions, but could be one of the bigger forces channeling more money into crypto over time, Decrypt said.
