Conduit Re hires three executives to expand property reinsurance team

The Bermuda-based reinsurer said the new roles will oversee and manage Conduit Re's full property portfolio and U.S. catastrophe underwriting coverage.

Conduit Re, a Bermuda-based multi-line reinsurance business and subsidiary of Conduit Holdings Limited, named three senior hires to strengthen its property reinsurance team, according to Risk & Insurance.

Aaron Coates was appointed head of property, bringing more than 25 years of reinsurance and retrocession experience across Bermuda, London, and insurance linked securities. He joins from PartnerRe, where he served as SVP and senior underwriter, global catastrophe, and will oversee Conduit Re’s full property portfolio and team.

Mark Mitchell joins as head of U.S. property after serving as SVP and lead underwriter, North America catastrophe, at PartnerRe. Dacotah Baksh was appointed as property underwriter, also coming from PartnerRe, where she worked as AVP and underwriter on the global catastrophe portfolio.

Conduit Re chief underwriting officer Stephen Postlewhite said the company is welcoming the hires and expects their property reinsurance expertise to be valuable as it executes on its underwriting strategy, Risk & Insurance reported.
