Iran reviews US response on proposal to end hostilities
Indirect talks between Iran and the US also discussed reopening the Strait of Hormuz and lifting a US naval blockade, while the US Dollar Index stayed up about 0.47% and WTI held near $90.80.
Iran is reviewing the United States response to its proposal aimed at ending hostilities, a senior Iranian official told Reuters, signaling diplomatic efforts between Tehran and Washington are still active.
The official said reopening the Strait of Hormuz and lifting the US blockade were among the topics raised during indirect talks on Tuesday. Iran’s priorities, according to the official, include permanently ending hostilities and securing the lifting of the US naval blockade, though differences remain between the two sides.
Reuters also noted market moves have been relatively contained, with the US Dollar Index trimming some gains but still up 0.47% on Wednesday slightly above 101.0.
WTI US oil was also described as pulling back but remaining 1.47% higher at around $90.80 per barrel, even as the negotiations continue.
