U.S. LNG exports averaged 23% higher in 1H 2026

The EIA forecasts exports will average 17.3 Bcf/d in 2H 2026 before increasing to 18.7 Bcf/d in 1H 2027.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration reports that U.S. liquefied natural gas exports averaged 17.4 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) in the first half of 2026, up 23% from the same period in 2025, citing data from its Natural Gas Monthly.

In its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, the EIA estimates that exports will average 17.3 Bcf/d in the second half of 2026.

The agency further projects a rise to 18.7 Bcf/d in the first half of 2027.
