Zillow flags a pause for existing home sales in Q4 2026
Zillow expects existing home sales to fall 3.5% in the fourth quarter, even as full-year sales are projected to rise 1.2%.
Zillow Research said the housing recovery is likely to slow through the remainder of 2026, citing weakness in existing home sales.
In its September 2026 forecast, Zillow projected existing home sales will decline 3.5% in the fourth quarter.
Despite that expected pullback, the firm expects existing home sales to finish 2026 up 1.2% overall.
Zillow also pointed to rents rising during the period as it outlined the broader housing backdrop for 2026.
