Croatian court approved extradition over Nord Stream pipeline explosions
Germany says the suspect, a trained scuba diver, helped plant explosives on Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 near Bornholm.
A Croatian court has approved the extradition of a Ukrainian man wanted in Germany over the 2022 undersea explosions that damaged the Nord Stream gas pipelines, state media said.
HousingWire reports the case stems from German prosecutors, who said the suspect was a trained scuba diver and that he, along with others, planted explosives on Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 in the Baltic Sea near the Danish island of Bornholm.
According to the reporting, the suspect was arrested on a European warrant in the northern Croatian town of Pula in August, and his lawyer, Ljubo Pavaskovic, said he will appeal the September 18 ruling. It was not immediately clear when the man could be handed over to Germany.
