Man sentenced to 12 years for $16M Coinbase phishing scheme

CoinDesk reports that a Brooklyn man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for stealing about $16 million through a Coinbase phishing scheme.

According to CoinDesk, the fraud targeted roughly 100 people across the United States, with the defendant persuading victims to transfer funds by telling them their accounts had been hacked.
