New England natural gas prices trade near record discounts to Henry Hub

EIA reports that natural gas prices at a key New England pricing hub have remained near record discounts to Henry Hub in recent months.

The agency attributes the gap to low-cost Appalachian and Canadian gas supply, along with lower-than-usual regional consumption, which has weighed on prices at the New England hub.

As a result, New England prices are trading at a discount to the widely used U.S. benchmark Henry Hub, according to EIA.
