NSE shares debut on BSE with flat premium and open near ₹1,800

The public issue opened September 17, 2026, was subscribed 5.7 times, and attracted bids of 50.58 crore shares for 8.86 crore shares offered, with the QIB portion getting more than 12 times subscription.

India’s National Stock Exchange (NSE) shares started trading on the BSE after a nearly decade-long wait, with the listing delivering a flat premium of ₹15 to allottees. The stock opened at ₹1,800 and quickly moved higher, reaching an intraday high of ₹1,845 within minutes, according to LiveMint Markets.

The IPO opened on September 17, 2026 and was subscribed 5.71 times. The institutional portion was the main driver of demand, with the qualified institutional buyer (QIB) segment receiving more than 12 times subscription, LiveMint Markets added.

The issue size was ₹22,569 crore, attracting bids for 50.58 crore shares against 8.86 crore shares on offer. LiveMint Markets also cited a grey market premium of ₹45, while market observers framed the debut as relatively steady rather than sharply higher.

LiveMint Markets quoted analysts urging a longer-term view, saying the listing reflects India’s GDP and the company’s fundamentals. One market participant also suggested investors who did not subscribe and are seeking a price below the upper band may want to wait for the stock to settle over the first few sessions after listing.
