South Philadelphia townhome plans total 262 units
The projects are slated for review at the Philadelphia Civic Design Review Committee meeting on Oct. 6, with a 1 p.m. start time.
Housing development proposals in South Philadelphia would add 262 townhome units across two nearby sites, according to Bisnow. Trove Capital wants to build 140 townhouses at 3100 Penrose Ferry Road near Interstate 76, while Hightop Development is seeking approvals for 122 additional units at the corner of Shunk and 22nd streets, also on opposite sides of the highway. The proposals are listed on the Philadelphia Civic Design Review Committee’s agenda for Oct. 6, with the meeting scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Bisnow noted the plans follow earlier progress at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, where Korman Communities and Ensemble/Mosaic delivered the first 614 residential units earlier this year, and the developers said the project was 40% occupied as of earlier this month.
Elsewhere in the regional deal sheet, Bisnow said Getty Corp. bought the 110,000 square foot Dickson City Commons at 1106 Commerce Blvd. outside Scranton from Meritus Realty Ventures, and an entity associated with Daniel Siegel sold 12 units at 4123-4127 Westminster Ave. for $2.1 million, or $175,000 per unit. Bisnow also reported shopping center activity in Montgomeryville, including Echo Realty and TPG purchasing Water Tower Square at 751 Horsham Road from The Goldenberg Group.
