Indian stocks rise modestly as foreign outflows and geopolitics persist
Nifty 50 closed 0.5% higher at 23,446 and the Sensex gained 0.4% to 74,828 despite cautious sentiment tied to geopolitical uncertainty and ongoing foreign investor outflows.

Despite the uptick, overall sentiment stayed cautious, with geopolitical uncertainties and persistent foreign investor outflows weighing on the market.
Metals led the rally, as JSW Steel climbed 2.5%, Tata Steel rose 2.5%, and Hindalco gained 2.2%. Bajaj Finance added 2.1%, while Larsen & Toubro rose 1.9%.
On the downside, Titan fell 1.0%, Coal India dropped 0.9%, and Cipla eased 0.8%, while IT majors Infosys and TCS also traded lower, declining 0.7% and 0.6%, respectively. The article noted Bank Nifty has lagged, with bearish pressure seen emerging at higher levels and prices shifting into consolidation.
