Bitget says hack involved spoofed transfers, not private keys

CoinDesk reports Bitget lost $351.6 million after attackers compromised a wallet backend and spoofed transaction data.

CoinDesk reports that Bitget lost $351.6 million in a recent attack, and the exchange’s CEO Gracy Chen said the incident did not involve stolen private keys.

According to Chen, attackers compromised Bitget’s wallet backend and then spoofed transaction data to carry out the unauthorized transfers.

Chen said the hack stemmed from the manipulated wallet backend and transaction display, rather than access to users’ private keys.
