India will keep exporting diesel to support global demand

India’s refining capacity is about 5.36 million barrels per day and is set to rise to 5.8 million bpd, the oil minister said.

India will continue exporting diesel to help meet global demand and ease a fuel crunch, Oil Minister Hardeep Puri said at an industry event in New Delhi, according to OilPrice.

Puri said India is fulfilling its export commitments and pointed to ongoing expansion in refining capacity driven by years of investment.

He said India’s refining capacity is around 5.36 million barrels per day, with a rise to 5.8 million bpd expected.
