Only nine tankers pass through Strait of Hormuz as crisis deepens

The 10-day average for tanker transits has fallen to 18, down from double-digit levels earlier in the disruption.

Only nine commodity carriers passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, eight of them exiting the waterway, according to Reuters in its regular tanker-number update.

The Thursday transit total is a further decline from already depressed figures, with the number of tankers in the strait now down to single digits, Reuters reported.

Reuters said the 10-day average for Hormuz transits has dropped to 18.
