Pacific Life Re names Mei Sum Chan head of medical analytics
The reinsurer said the role supports medical analytics used to inform emerging health and mortality trends, assumption development, and data driven insights.
Pacific Life Re has appointed Mei Sum Chan as its Head of Medical Analytics, the company said. Chan succeeds Ian Collins, who is retiring after more than 15 years with the reinsurer.
The reinsurer said medical analytics is important for understanding emerging health and mortality trends, supporting assumption development, and generating data driven insights for its business and clients.
Pacific Life Re said Chan brings experience across insurance, life sciences, and academic research, including current roles with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and the International Actuarial Association.
It also noted that prior to the new appointment, Chan most recently served as Director, R&D Specialist Team at Pacific Life Re and previously worked at LCP Health as a Senior Consultant Statistician in health economics and outcomes research.
