US dollar strengthens as Fed hike expectations reprice
The report links the dollar's gains to rising US yields and Fed rate-hike expectations, with euro/dollar hitting a two-month low and dollar/yen pushing up to 158.
Action Forex said oil remained the key driver for another week, but the US dollar was the main gainer as markets shifted their focus toward major US data and Fed commentary.
The outlet attributed the greenback's strength to a repricing of Fed rate hike expectations, higher bond yields, and some safe-haven flows, while noting that euro/dollar fell to a fresh two-month low.
Action Forex also said dollar/yen climbed to 158, two weeks after it reached a seven-month low, even as risk appetite stayed muted.
It added that despite many equity indexes being in the red so far in September, the Nasdaq 100 and cryptocurrencies posted solid gains.
