Strategy proposes daily dividends for its four U.S. preferred shares

The plan would move STRC to 365 record dates per year, with dividends accruing on weekends and public holidays.

Bitcoin treasury firm Strategy said it wants to pay dividends on its four U.S. preferred shares every day, including weekends and public holidays. The proposal covers STRF, STRC, STRK, and STRD, with dividends accruing every calendar day and paying on the following business day, while the economics would otherwise stay unchanged, Decrypt reports.

Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor said the change is intended to dampen volatility by supporting price stability, liquidity, and demand. The company filed a preliminary proxy, with a definitive proxy due on October 5 and a shareholder vote set for October 28.

The plan would have STRC move first, with a first record date of November 1 and first payment on November 2. The other three would continue on the old quarterly schedule through December 31, then switch starting January 1.

According to Strategy, STRC currently has 24 record dates per year, and all four would move to 365 record dates. For the three paying quarterly, the company said the increase would be 90 times, Decrypt reports.
