Active ETFs reach record $2.72 trillion as inflows surge

Investors added $663.6 billion to active ETFs through August, lifting assets to $2.72 trillion and extending 77 straight months of positive net flows.

ETF industry data cited by ETF Trends shows investors poured a record $663.59 billion into active exchange-traded funds through August, pushing global active ETF assets to an all-time high of $2.72 trillion.

According to ETFGI research, active ETFs have recorded positive net flows for 77 consecutive months, and category assets are up 42.6% since the start of the year, when they stood at $1.91 trillion.

ETFGI found that the bulk of August inflows went to equity-focused active ETFs, which absorbed $42.47 billion, or 58.1% of monthly inflows.

ETF Trends also noted that equity-focused active ETFs have gathered $398.25 billion so far this year, as investors increasingly favor active stock selection over traditional index funds.
