Xi and Trump agree on a managed trade framework during US visit

Chinese President Xi Jinping completed a 43-hour trip to the United States, his first state visit in more than a decade, where he met repeatedly with US President Donald Trump at events including bilateral talks at the White House and a state dinner.
According to SCMP Economy, the agenda covered trade, tariffs, and Taiwan, alongside other meetings during the visit.
The two sides also finalized a Board of Trade mechanism, with plans to announce non-sensitive sectors and products capped at US$30 billion each for tariff reduction.
SCMP Economy adds that US trade chief Jamieson Greer said Washington and Beijing reached an agreement on a portion of managed trade, with more details expected to be published on Monday.
