China and US move toward new military crisis-communication pact

China and the United States have agreed to pursue a new military crisis-communication pact after the Trump and Xi summit, Beijing said, aiming to give commanders another mechanism to manage dangerous encounters across the Indo-Pacific.

According to a statement from China’s Foreign Ministry, the two militaries plan to conclude a memorandum of understanding on “crisis communication and prevention” as soon as possible, the SCMP Economy reported.
