Premier League clubs seek advice on compensation from Man City case

Premier League clubs are seeking legal advice on whether they could pursue a compensation claim related to Manchester City after the club was found guilty of the vast majority of 115 financial rule breaches accused by the Premier League, according to BBC Business.

Sanctions for Manchester City have not been announced yet, but potential repercussions discussed include a points deduction, expulsion from the Premier League, or a large fine.

BBC Sport was told that Manchester City will appeal, after a decision reported as upholding 114 of the 115 counts came about 1,327 days after City were charged in February 2023.

The ruling was reached after a four-year investigation and follows a hearing by an independent commission that concluded 22 months before the outcome, with the Premier League declining to comment while no official announcement has been made.
