Bitget resumes Bitcoin withdrawals after $388 million hack
Ether withdrawals are set to return Tuesday, while USDt withdrawals are expected to resume on Wednesday.
Cointelegraph reports that Bitget has restarted cryptocurrency withdrawals after a security breach last week that it says affected nearly $388 million in assets. The exchange resumed Bitcoin (BTC) withdrawals on Monday, after having suspended withdrawals following the incident.
According to Cointelegraph, Bitget expects Ether (ETH) withdrawals to return on Tuesday and USDt withdrawals to resume on Wednesday as it restores services. The attacker is also reported to be continuing the movement of stolen crypto through THORChain.
Cointelegraph adds that the Sept. 24 breach compromised part of Bitget’s hot and warm wallet infrastructure, while the exchange said its cold wallets remained secure. Bitget has also said it revised the stolen amount from $351.6 million to $3 (the article text cuts off after this point).
