The firm’s quantitative investing operation has about 180 employees across financial research and data engineering and plans to grow its workforce at a double digit annual rate over the coming year, Bloomberg reported.
The expansion includes a new team focused on systematic trading strategies across global equities, headed by Alexey Poyarkov, who recently joined Citadel from TGS Management, the report said.
Citadel is also continuing to recruit university graduates while seeking specialists who can develop investment concepts and apply increasingly sophisticated AI systems to turn those ideas into trading strategies, Bloomberg reported.
