Dallas Fed manufacturing index rises to 9.8 in September

The Dallas Fed reported that its September manufacturing business index rose to 9.8, up from 11.6 previously, according to Forexlive.

Within the survey, new orders increased to 30.7 from 22.0, shipments rose to 24.8 from 14.1, and employment climbed to 15.1 from 8.0.

The report also showed capex at 8.5 versus 8.2 prior, production jumping to 29.5 from 16.1, and an outlook reading of 8.7 compared with 19.2 previously.

Forexlive noted that the production index, a key measure of Texas manufacturing conditions, surged by 13 points, even as executives remained pessimistic.
