Dr Lal PathLabs buys 70% stake in SN Genelab for ₹168 crore
The deal includes an extra ₹31.5 crore contingent on SN Genelab hitting performance targets, while FY26 revenue at ₹58 crore is about 2% of Dr Lal’s prior-year revenue.
Dr Lal PathLabs is buying a 70% stake in SN Genelab for ₹168 crore, with an additional ₹31.5 crore payable if SN Genelab meets certain performance targets, according to LiveMint Markets.
LiveMint Markets also notes that SN Genelab’s FY26 revenue is ₹58 crore, roughly 2% of Dr Lal’s revenue from the previous year, suggesting the acquisition is unlikely to provide an immediate boost to Dr Lal’s results.
Nomura Research, cited by LiveMint Markets, said the acquisition could be marginally earnings per share dilutive for Dr Lal in the near term, even as SN Genelab’s specialized genomics testing capabilities could reach more customers through Dr Lal’s network over time.
The outlet added that Dr Lal’s wide network of hospitals, doctors, and patients across India includes both B2B and B2C channels, and that the deal is expected to strengthen its footprint in western India, which contributes 14% of its revenues.
