EUR/USD forecasts are revised lower as dollar strength persists
Societe Generale expects EUR/USD to fall to 1.15, while consensus has shifted down from 1.20 to 1.16.
FXStreet highlights that EUR/USD forecasts have been repeatedly cut as the US dollar remains resilient, with Societe Generale pointing to persistent dollar strength.
The outlet says FX forecasts in consensus have moved from 1.20 to 1.16, while Societe Generale now targets 1.15, based on its assessment that the dollar remains supported.
FXStreet also notes Societe Generale client discussions suggesting the market is more dollar bullish than those forecast levels imply, citing strong US data and inflation as potential drivers.
Societe Generale attributed the shift to factors including elevated oil and other commodity prices, robust US economic data, and a more risk-averse global environment that has weakened bearish dollar views, according to FXStreet.
