Flooding in Bangkok delays at least 21 flights to and from Hong Kong

The Hong Kong airport said 10 inbound and four outbound Bangkok flights were delayed by at least one hour on Sunday.

At least 21 flights connecting Hong Kong and Bangkok were disrupted over Sunday and Monday as Bangkok was hit by its worst flooding in 15 years, according to SCMP Economy.

The outlet reported that one service leaving Bangkok faced nearly a 24-hour delay, after heavy rainfall lashed the Thai capital from Thursday through Monday and Thai officials declared the city a disaster zone.

SCMP Economy said the Hong Kong airport website showed 10 inbound flights and four outbound flights connecting with Bangkok on Sunday were delayed by at least one hour.

Despite the disruptions, Hongkongers in Bangkok told the outlet that the central tourist hub was less affected, with shopping centres still open even as some neighborhoods were submerged.
