GBP net short positions rise as the pound tracks oil-led USD rally

Rabobank said GBP net short positions rose more than 40% to their highest since August, while the Bank of England left its rate unchanged at 3.75% on September 18.

Rabobank highlighted that GBP net short positions have risen by more than 40% to their highest level since August.

The bank also noted that the Bank of England kept its Bank Rate unchanged at 3.75% on September 18, matching market expectations.

According to FXStreet, the pound has weakened alongside an oil-led US dollar rally, a move that Rabobank linked to negative speculative sentiment toward GBP.
