Germany says winter gas supply is covered despite low storage levels
VNG said Germany’s access to more LNG and a broader mix of gas suppliers makes the system more robust than in 2022.
Germany does not face a gas supply shortage for the coming winter despite record-low natural gas levels in storage sites, according to VNG, one of the biggest German gas importers.
OilPrice reports that VNG attributed the assessment to Germany’s diversified import capabilities, including greater access to liquefied natural gas (LNG) and a broadened portfolio of supply sources.
VNG also said the gas system is more robust overall compared with 2022, citing the improved mix of imports and suppliers.
