Hong Kong tenants plan hiring surges but limited office expansion
Colliers found the survey, run between June and August, covered about 200 office tenants and showed more headcount intent than changes to real estate footprints.
Hong Kong office tenants are signaling strong hiring intentions, but they are far less likely to expand their office space, according to a Colliers survey.
The consultancy said more than a third of tenants expect to increase headcounts over the next 12 months, while only a fifth plan to expand their real estate footprint.
Colliers attributed the gap to a disconnect between hiring and office expansion, saying many companies are absorbing growth by using existing space more efficiently and adopting evolving workplace strategies.
The survey was conducted between June and August and polled about 200 office tenants across different industries and company sizes, focusing on business outlook and office space strategies.
