Russia bans public reporting on refinery output and oil export routes

Russia has restricted public reporting on key parts of its energy exports, including refinery production figures, export contracts, and tanker routes, according to Reuters.

The rules were put in place under a decree signed by President Vladimir Putin on Monday, and the restrictions took effect upon signing.

The Kremlin said the measure was prompted by unfriendly actions by Washington and its allies.

Russia has 10 days to specify which product codes fall under the new reporting limits, Reuters reported.
