Shanghai Electric wins turnkey gas turbine deal for Malaysia power plant
The turnkey package for the Samalaju Combined Cycle Power Plant includes a 25-year maintenance service for the main equipment.
Shanghai Electric has secured a turnkey contract to supply equipment for a power plant in Malaysia, marking a new overseas foothold for the Chinese heavy-duty gas turbine maker, according to SCMP Economy.
The state-owned conglomerate will provide gas turbines for the Samalaju Combined Cycle Power Plant in Sarawak, a major infrastructure project being developed by the state utility Sarawak Energy Berhad to support rising regional demand.
Shanghai Electric said the tailor-made package includes gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, heat recovery steam generators, and air-cooling systems, and that it will also provide a 25-year maintenance service for the main equipment.
