UK power system faces 1.4 GW margin shortfall on Monday evening

The National Energy System Operator said it issued the notice to prompt generators to increase electricity availability ahead of Monday evening.

The UK power system is facing a 1.4 gigawatt margin shortfall on Monday evening local time, according to a routine precautionary notice from the National Energy System Operator, reported by OilPrice.

OilPrice said NESO has sent similar electricity margin notices during this spring and summer’s record heatwaves, asking power generators to increase availability if needed.
