Widewaters, Trammell Crow seek permit for 376-unit Tempe apartment complex

Widewaters and Trammell Crow are seeking a permit for a 376-unit apartment complex in Tempe, according to ConnectCRE, citing reporting from the Phoenix Business Journal.
The development would be built on a 12-acre vacant parcel that is currently used as a parking lot, located adjacent to the 25-acre Emerald City mixed-use project, which already includes businesses such as IKEA, LifeTime Fitness, and White Castle.
The planned mix includes 37 studio units, 207 one-bedrooms, 117 two-bedrooms, and 15 three-bedrooms, with amenities that would include a pool, spa, gym, yoga room, and meeting spaces.
ConnectCRE also reports that the community college district, which owns the land, is looking for the project to create housing opportunities for people employed at the Emerald Center and reduce their commute.
