Zano rolls back blockchain history after Gateway Address exploit

The restart at block 3,833,000 invalidates about a month of transactions, removing unauthorized ZANO and Freedom Dollar that entered circulation via the vulnerability.

Zano has restarted its blockchain at block 3,833,000, immediately before Hard Fork 6, which introduced the Gateway Addresses feature, according to its core team.

Cointelegraph reports the network rolled back roughly a month of history after a Gateway Addresses vulnerability allowed unauthorized ZANO and Freedom Dollar to enter circulation.

The recovery update requires participating nodes, miners, stakers, exchanges and other services to adopt the new version, the team said.

The rollback invalidates both legitimate transactions from the rollback period and the unauthorized tokens that were introduced through the exploit.
