Azad Engineering shares rise more than 5% after GE Vernova plant launch
The stock opened at ₹2,779 on NSE, touched an intraday high of ₹2,918, while Sensex and Nifty were down sharply in early trade.
Azad Engineering shares rose more than 5% in Tuesday trading, after the company inaugurated two exclusive lean manufacturing facilities for GE Vernova's Gas Power business at its Centre of Excellence & Innovation Ceuhe in Tunikibollaram, Hyderabad, on September 28.
The stock opened at ₹2,779 apiece on NSE, compared with the previous close of ₹2,723.20, and it reached an intraday high of ₹2,918 as it extended the day's gains.
The rally came despite a weaker start for broader markets, with BSE Sensex down 503 points to 72,260.09 and NSE Nifty down 151 points to 22,626.50 in early trade, as elevated crude oil prices and foreign fund outflows weighed on sentiment, according to LiveMint Markets.
