Centerview hires Bennett Schachter to lead capital advisory practice

Centerview said Schachter will help bolster its ability to advise on public and private capital markets, including strategic financing transactions.

Centerview Partners has hired Bennett Schachter, a former Elliott Investment Management managing director, to lead its capital advisory business, as the firm seeks to expand across public and private capital markets, Hedgeweek reported, citing Bloomberg.

Schachter joined Centerview as a partner after four years at Elliott, where he focused on capital markets and financing solutions, and before that he spent 25 years in investment banking, including senior roles at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

Hedgeweek reported that Schachter’s background across equity, credit, and alternative forms of capital is intended to strengthen Centerview’s advisory work for both existing and prospective clients on strategic financing transactions.

Hedgeweek also noted that the bank has identified capital advisory as a strategic priority amid shifting capital flows and growing demand for private-market financing.
