LNG Canada to double export capacity in early 2030s

Canada’s first liquefied natural gas export facility, LNG Canada, is set to double its export capacity in the early 2030s, according to OilPrice.
The outlet reports that the Shell-led project announced Tuesday the final investment decision to move forward with Phase 2 at the Kitimat, British Columbia site.
OilPrice says LNG Canada began exports in summer 2025 after years of development by its shareholders, including Shell, Petronas, and PetroChina.
